Just a Cute Picture

Well, Rileigh is growing up FAST! It is so hard to believe that in 6 weeks we will be celebrating her first birthday. She changes overnight and does a new thing what seems like everyday. She really benefits from having Mom as her daycare provider. Mom does so well working with her. She has Rileigh showing you where her nose is already. Rileigh now has her fourth tooth coming in. She got the top 2 teeth first in the latter part of September and about a week later, one of the bottom teeth showed up. I just noticed the second bottom tooth about 3 days ago. As a result, she is battling another cold. She is walking around things really well and has become quite a fast crawler. Rileigh will stand without holding on to things for long periods of time now. This past week she took her first step. I don't think it will be much longer before she starts walking.

Meet Magnus

Meet Magnus Pendleton Machunck Harris Esquire...the newest addition to our family. My brother has been wanting to get a pet for a while now, but couldn't decide what would be best for apartment life. He started out wanting a dog and then settled for fish. I guess he realized that fish are kind of boring so he started talking about wanting a chinchilla. He even got the cage, but then changed his mind to a cat. Yesterday he got Magnus who is a 3 month old tabby. He is so cute and playful. The best part is he was great with Rileigh. She was pulling his ears and tail, and Magnus just kept sitting there and letting her do it. He seems like he is going to have a great personality and be a lot of fun!

Yankee Candle Fall Festival

Yesterday Mom and I took Rileigh to the Fall Festival at the Yankee Candle store in Williamsburg. We shopped some, ate lunch and let Rileigh do some of the activities. She painted a pumpkin and got her face painted for the first time. I was actually impressed that she sat still long enough to get the heart on her face. It is a light pink, so I hope you can see it. It looked really cute while it lasted. About an hour after it was done, she had a "broken heart". Only about half of it was left. The other half was on Mom's shirt. Sorry Nanny!

Rob's Birthday Celebration

Here are some pictures from Rob's 27th birthday. This year I decided to get him a new TV because he has been wanting one for a long time. He talked about it quite frequently too. The first picture is when he walked in the house and saw the TV set up. The look of confusion and surprise is because he thought he was getting a TV from his parents and that we were going to be picking it up that evening. So, when we came home from lunch, he couldn't figure out how I had gotten it all hooked up already. Thanks Mom, Dawn, and Dustin. I couldn't have pulled it off without you guys. Once he put everything together he was very excited. Rileigh was a big helper for her Daddy when it came to opening his presents. I think we will have a great time this year at Christmas.

Hunt Club Farm

Us, Mom, Dawn, Taylor, Zoe and Taylor's friend Breeze went to Hunt Club Farm in Virginia Beach last Sunday. There was so much stuff there for the kids to do and it was all at reasonable prices. We took Rileigh in the petting zoo and she absolutely loved the goats. Anytime I tried to stand up to leave, she got really upset. At one point she was even leaning in to kiss them. There was also this huge pile of hay for everyone to play in. She had a great time in there as well. She crawled around for a long time. Rileigh also went on her first hay ride.

First Pony Ride

While we were at Hunt Club, Rileigh went on her first Pony ride. She enjoyed it for the most part, but she was really tired so by the end, she was ready to get off. Shortly after, she passed out. I couldn't leave out the picture of her daddy running and diving in the hay. He wanted to be one of the kids!

Yum...Spaghetti!

We are gradually trying to get Rileigh to start eating table food. She seems to really enjoy it, but generally we feed it to her. At this Sunday family dinner, I made spaghetti so I decided to let her feed herself. What a mess! But it made for a good laugh, great pictures, and she enjoyed herself. At the end of the evening, she started making a fish face. We can't figure out where she learned to do it, but she does it all the time now.

Back to OC

My family took a weekend trip to Ocean City the last weekend of September. This has become kind of a tradition over the last few years. It was really nice this year because Dustin came. Rileigh seemed to really enjoy the beach. Her crazy mom forgot to pack a bathing suit for her, so she had to play in her clothes. The sand doesn't bother her a bit. In fact, she was even eating it at one point. The water was cold, but she enjoyed having it splash up on her. At one point, a huge wave crashed close to her and Taylor. Thank goodness Taylor was sitting with her because she kept Rileigh from falling over!

More OC

Here are a few more pictures from our weekend at the beach. Mom and Rileigh shared a funnel cake on the boardwalk. She couldn't get enough of it. It was chilly on the boardwalk in the evenings, but Rileigh enjoyed being outside. On the way home, she was playing peek a boo with a frisbee. Anything to keep her entertained in the car. :-)

Laundry Helper

Rileigh has become quite the little helper around the house. This particular day I had about 3 loads of laundry that needed to be folded. So, Rob and I were trying to get everything put away as Rileigh was pulling everything out of the basket and off the bed. She thought she was helping us. :-) She has also learned how to open drawers and pull the clothes out. If only we could teach her how to fold them and put them away!

Andrea and Tony's Wedding

My cousin Andrea got married on Sept 20. The wedding was in Hagerstown and was a great time. She looked beautiful and her dress was beautiful as well. Rileigh had a good time playing with it. Rileigh got a little warm once the dancing started so we ended up having to take off her dress. The fact that she puked all over it didn't help either. You can see that she and Zoe both had a great time dancing. The picture of Rileigh sleeping is on the car ride home the next day. She looked so cute!
