Piano Star

I ordered the Fisher Price Grand Piano from Wachovia Rewards a few months ago. We opened it this evening and gave it to Rileigh. She is loving it! I think this is a toy that will keep her occupied for a good amount of time. She loved just about anything that plays music, so it doesn't get much better than this for her!

BTW, she had her 6 month checkup this past Monday. She weighs 17lbs 13oz and is 27 7/8 inches long. Her weight has dropped to the 75 percentile, but her height is still in the 95th. I guess she gets her height from her Gookie because she sure doesn't get it from her mom and dad. Rileigh got 5 shots, but she did well with them. The doctor was impressed that she is sitting and that she is saying Mama. We are waiting for her to take off crawling. I don't think it will be much longer!!

Ocean City

Rileigh and I went to Ocean City with my mom and dad this past weekend. It was so nice to get away and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Rileigh loved the beach! Anytime we stepped outside, she squealed with excitement. I think if I could let the child sleep outside, she would sleep forever. When she takes her naps, she generally only sleeps about 30 minutes. Well, Saturday on the beach she slept for close to a hour and a half! It was a relaxing weekend and well needed. We ate tons of food...as always in Ocean City. We had Kohr Bros ice cream, fried oreos, Fractured Prune Donuts...the list goes on. Rileigh had her pictures taken on the beach and the guy who took the pictures called her a future beach babe. The pictures turned out great and I had a hard time choosing. Here are some pictures that we took while we were there. Thanks again Nanny and Gookie for letting us tag along!

Uncle Tom's Party

The reason we went to Connecticut was for Uncle Tom's 60th birthday party. It was a surprise and he had told some of his sister's that if anyone tried to do anything for his birthday, he was going to turn and walk out. Well, Tom was true to his word. When he turned the corner and saw everyone, he left. It took some convincing, but he finally came back to the party and I do believe he ended up having a good time. Aunt Julie sure does know how to throw a good party!

Trip to Connecticut

Rob, Rileigh and I took a trip up to Connecticut June 13-15. I was really nervous about flying, but surprisingly it went really well. Rileigh was asleep before take off on all the flights, to and from. She did great! Unfortunately by the time we got home, she had a nasty cold that she is still trying to get over. The trip was wonderful but quick. It was nice to see everyone and I was glad that Rileigh got to meet most all of her family on the Reilly side. We stayed at Trice and Marty's house this trip. Rileigh absolutely loved Marty and I would venture to say that Marty loved having her around as well! Rileigh got her first bath in the kitchen sink while we were visiting. This is a must in our family! She had a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa, who we managed to surprise. They had no idea we were coming up, so when they saw us, it was quite a shock. I don't think we could have planned for a better reaction. It was so cute to see Lily's reaction to Rileigh. Lily would give her kisses, try to share her pretzel and even smack Rileigh around. :-) I am excited to see how she is going to be when her little baby brother comes along next month. Congrats Kim and Jason!!
PS-I don't know how you managed to not be in any of our pictures Jason, but we will get you next time!!

A Day of Fantastic News!!

Rileigh had her follow up appointment with the Ophthalmologist today and we were very pleased with the news. Her vision is getting better! Rob and I already figured this, but it was nice to hear it from the doctor. The doctor did say that she still has an astigmatism in both eyes, but that they are getting better and she is getting more far sighted, which is a good thing. Her nystagmus is still there and he noticed how she holds her head down sometimes when she is focusing on something. Since she showed so much improvement, the doctor said Rileigh could go another 6 months without glasses to see if she improves anymore on her own. The one thing he did tell me to do was to make sure that I have sunglasses or a hat on her at all times when she is outside because her eyes are so sensitive to the sun.

As if that is not good news enough, I decided to call the genetics doctor today. It was really weighing on me that it was going to take 4-6 weeks to get all Rileigh's test results, so I called to check in. The results were in and every thing is NEGATIVE!! This means that Rileigh does not have Hermansky-Pudlok Syndrome, her skull openings are normal and are not closing up, and all of her organs are functioning properly. What a blessing! Now she just has to pass her hearing test in July (which I have no worries about) and make it through her cardiology appointment. This could not have been a better day for us.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

The Girls

Here is a cute picture of the girls watching TV at our house. Rileigh had to be right in the middle!

Swimming Lessons

Rileigh started swimming lessons on Sunday. I was really nervous about how she was going to do because every time we put her feel in water, besides her bath, she screams. To my surprise, she loved the pool. She was laughing and screaming and was even sticking her face in the water. We had a lot of fun!
